In addition to a permanent rotating gallery of local artists' works, the Fort Smith Art Center displays works by nationally recognized artists every month. The gallery is located within the Victorian-era Vaughn-Schaap House and is just blocks from a number of historic landmarks such as the Clayton House. Each year the center hosts art and photography competitions with entrants drawn from across the nation.
